Case study · Web design, brand identity

200+ real estate websites, each one made to order.

From 2021 to 2025 I worked at a US real estate web design studio, first as senior art director and then as UX/UI designer and digital strategist. I led creative on more than 200 custom websites for agents and brokerages across North America.

In short

Luxury agents are judged on taste before anyone picks up the phone. I designed custom homepages and brand identities that looked like the homes they sell, then carried them through WordPress production. The work earned consistent five-star client reviews, four of which name me on Google.

The brief, every time

A buyer or seller looks up an agent before calling. The site has to look like the listings, work on a phone, and make it easy to search properties and get in touch. Each client wanted a site that felt like theirs alone, not a template with a new logo.

What I did

For each project I art directed the homepage design in Figma, set the typography and color for the brand, and handed the approved design into WordPress production. From 2024 I also managed production end to end and handled client relationships through Salesforce.

  • Nelson Luxury for Geoffrey Nelson, San Francisco Peninsula: a dark, architectural homepage built around full-bleed property photography.
  • The Vega Group at Optimar International Realty: a bright coastal layout with team photography and featured listings.
  • City to City Commercial Real Estate: a charcoal and copper homepage for an Arizona commercial brokerage, with a desert hero and line-drawn towers behind the intro.

Brand identity

Many clients needed a mark before they needed a site. I designed identities for Nick Rogers in La Jolla, Bernard Jones, P.A., Malia Cox Nobrega in Vail, and The Realtor in the Room.

How the process ran

Most of this work happened over email and across time zones, with clients who were busy selling houses. This is how one of them described it:

Communicating design concepts via email can be very confusing but Clinton made the process very streamlined and made sure to address all of our various changes within a very timely manner.

Results

More than 200 custom sites shipped under my creative lead, with consistent five-star client reviews and company recognition. Four public Google reviews mention me by name, and five more clients sent written feedback. All of them are on the reviews section of this site, with links to the originals where public.
