Communications for the Makati Business Club.

From March 2019 to September 2020 I was Communications, Events and Branding Officer at the Makati Business Club, an association of senior business leaders in Manila. I handled media relations, designed the club's print and digital materials, organized forums, and photographed its events.

In short

An association of CEOs needs to look as serious as its members. I designed the club's 2018 and 2019 annual reports, the 2020 Annual Membership Meeting presentation, a social series that turned members' public statements into quote cards, and the photography from its forums.

Annual reports, 2018 and 2019

Both covers use Makati at night, the business district the club is named after, with traffic blurred into streaks of light.

The 2020 Annual Membership Meeting deck

The membership meeting is where the club reports its year back to members. The deck recapped 2019: the chairman's report by Edgar O. Chua, the board of trustees, and a year of speakers that included Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, Singaporean President Halimah Yacob, and Grameen founder Muhammad Yunus. The design keeps a deep plum brand color throughout and lets event photography carry each section.

Business Matters, on social

Business Matters turned the club's column into a recurring social series. Each card pairs a portrait with one pulled quote, a topic line, and the speaker's title: Guillermo Luz on disaster resilience and APEC, Edilberto de Jesus on crisis response, and Coco Alcuaz, the club's executive director, on poverty and growth. Because every card uses the same template, the feed reads as one institution even with many different speakers.

Events and photography

I organized C-suite forums and photographed them. Those photos went on to fill the membership meeting deck and the Business Matters cards. More of the event photography is in the portfolio gallery.
